There are generally three types of conditions that an effect its functions and cause pain:

  • Traumatic conditions which occurs a result of trauma and cause anatomic disruption in the joint. These groups generally do not respond to conservative treatments. Therefore in order to establish normal anatomy need Arthroscopic Surgery.
  • None traumatic conditions that occurs secondary to inflammatory causes. Majority do not need surgery to get rid of pain and return to normal function.
  • Muscle imbalance can be a big problem and make you to be prone to injury.

Knee

Knee is weight bearing joint. With running sport eight times body weight is the force that goes though your knee therefore needs to be strong enough to accommodate the forces that transmit through it.

Arthroscopic surgery

Is a technique through which a joint is examined with a tiny camera with magnification which enables surgeons’ to see minor details within the joint and correct anatomical abnormalities which interferes with normal function of the joint. Since we do not make a big cuts/incisions and surgery is done through little portals with size of quarter one inch, there is less pain and faster recovery time. Arthroscopic surgeries are all done on out patient’s basis or are called same day surgery.

Arthroscopic surgery allows the orthopedic surgeon to insert a pencil-thin device with a small lens and lighting system into tiny incisions to look inside the joint. This is an out patient service with ninety percent of our patients being able to use their shoulders or knees the same day.
